Crafting! A fun, inexpensive way to start your home decorating!

Now as a newly wed, you'll find that after you're finally settled down in your new apartment/house, all you really wanna do is DECORATE!  Decorating can be so fun but also really stressful, and expensive!  I have recently picked up on a fun, monthly tradition... CRAFT NIGHT!  All about fun everyday decorations and holiday/season decorations that are easy to make, and cheap too!  Craft Carnival has their craft night once a month and is held in Springville just east of Walmart.  I went to their recent one for St. Patricks and made this cute leprechan and lucky blocks.
Some of my friends attended too and we all had a great time!  Here is their upcoming craft night at the end of March, take a look at all the cute stuff they are doing for Easter!  I'm doing the chick and the bunny, I'm so excited!  I also really like the temple block and the spring blocks.  SIGN UP!  You wont regret it! :)

Finding his ring... CHEAP!

(I told myself I would never admit to doing this, because I dont like to be cheap - especially for my husband.  But he loved it, and some of you might find this a better option for you, so I had to share!)

As Randy and I were looking for his wedding ring, we found one that he couldn't get out of his mind.  Tungsten carbide with a band of black carbon fiber in the middle...

We found it at a Jewelry store in the Orem mall.  The salesman told us that Tungsten Carbide is one of the hardest metals ever, and wont scratch.  He even took something and tried to scratch it in front of us but it did nothing, it was pretty cool.  The ring was $300, and we were sold.  Right as we were about to buy it, a guy that was shopping in there came up to us.  "Hey man, you know you can get that exact ring for only like $25.00 on ebay?  I have the same one, but bought like 5 others too."  I kind of ignored him because I didn't want to go all cheap on my soon to be husband, but Randy was all for it.

We went home and got on ebay.  Sure enough, that exact same ring was only $25.00.  As we were looking through, we found the same one that had blue (his favorite color) carbon fiber in the middle, which of course he loved.  And then yet another one that had white carbon fiber, that I thought looked really good with my ring.  I ended up getting him 3 really nice wedding rings for only $75.00!  I still felt like I was being cheap with getting his ring, but he totally loved it so it was okay.  The white one is still considered his official "wedding ring", but he likes to switch his black and blue ones to match whatever he's wearing.

Jewelry stores tend to charge an arm and a leg for rings. So if you're looking for a less expensive way to get the exact kind of ring he's looking for, check ebay before you buy it somewhere else!  And get two or three! ;)

Green Chile Chicken Soup

If you're at all like me and my cooking skills, you will probably enjoy this post!  I haven't ever been great at cooking, but never really minded it either.  I'm more of the type that likes to throw something together really fast instead of spending an hour or two cooking a five star meal.  This habit of mine leads me to a lot of junk food and fast food!  This meal however is so fast and so easy, and honestly my favorite meal to have.  Its SO GOOD, and pretty healthy too!  All you need is a food storage! ;)  You'll need:

1 can green enchalada sauce
1 can corn
1 can black beans
1 can chicken broth
3 or 4 cooked and shredded chicken breasts
1/4 of a bunch of cilantro, chopped

Add all these in a pot and WALA, you have a delicious green chile chicken soup!  Your husband will think its a five star meal, just don't tell him it took you 2 minutes to put together! This recipe feeds 6-8 people, so you will have left overs if its just you and your hubby... but heating it back up is a breeze!

Serve with sour cream, cheese and tortilla chips.

Happy cooking!!

Anniversary bands from Shane Company!

I've been spending a lot of my time on this website this past day.  I went and picked up my wedding ring cause it was getting re-dipped, and stumbled upon some anniversary bands!! I'm in love with THIS one specifically.  Click on the picture and look at the side view, I love how the diamonds are held by a twisty band, very cool.  You can design your own wedding ring on their website! It's pretty fun, give it a try!

And we cant forget the lovely commercial we all know!  Lets all say it together... ;)
